Our Courses

The Shulan College was established in 1993, and has been at the forefront of education in Chinese medicine ever since, promoting high standard training for students throughout the UK and Europe. We offer a range of courses, from diplomas in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, to TCM Theory & Diagnostics and Tuina medical massage diplomas for those who wish to add to their TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) training.  We also offer various CPD events and clinical observations.

Tuina DiplomaTuina Medical Massage Next start date: March 2017 
Tuina is a therapeutic form of medical massage that emerged in China over 2000 years ago. This course is aimed at anybody who wishes to become a Tuina Medical Massage practitioner, and is an excellent course for those already trained in other bodywork therapies such as massage, physiotherapy, osteopathy, or acupuncture, or non bodywork therapies such as herbal medicine.

Acupuncture CoursesAcupuncture Next start date: September 2017 
This course is aimed at anybody who wishes to learn Traditional Chinese Medicine, and become a fully qualified Acupuncturist.  The course begins from scratch, with no prior knowledge needed, and will give the student the ability to practice a unique whole medical system. The acupuncture course is fully accredited by the CMA.

Chinese Herbal Medicine CoursesChinese Herbal Medicine Next start date: September 2017 
Our Chinese Herbal Medicine course is aimed at fully qualified Acupuncturists who have got the knowledge of basic TCM theory & TCM diagnosis. The course runs for 2 years and focuses on understanding herbal formulas. Completing the course will earn you a Diploma in herbal medicine, this course was recently accredited by the ATCM.

TCM Theory & Diagnostics TCM Theory & Diagnostics Next start date: September 2017 
This course provides the foundations of Chinese medicine that is present in all TCM modalities such as tuina, acupuncture and herbal medicine.  This course is already part of the acupuncture diploma for those that wish to carry on to learn acupuncture, and is mandatory for those wishing to learn herbal medicine without any prior TCM knowledge.

Masters DegreeMasters Degree Next start date: September 2017 
The masters degree program is a joint collaboration between the SCCM (Shulan College of Chinese Medicine) and the NJUCM (Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine), giving UK graduates an excellent opportunity to experience the highest standard of Chinese medicine education and resources. This degree requires the student to visit NJUCM in China, twice per year for two weeks per visit.
